Douglas Zane Clark Doug is Chief Financial Officer of Southlake Equity Group. He leads financial modeling and analysis in due diligence, supports the finance teams of portfolio companies, and provides regular financial tutoring and guidance to portfolio company management across all functions, ensuring that management has robust financial tools in place to support strategic and operational improvement initiatives. Doug began his career in public accounting before transitioning to the Chief Financial Officer role in a company eventually acquired by Southlake Equity Group. Upon the sale of that company, he transitioned to the Southlake investment team, after also having spent several years leading the day-to-day operations of the company as President. Doug has the unusual perspective of seeing business issues through the eyes of non-finance management team members, because not long ago, he was one of them. As an operator first and finance person second, he understands that the role of finance is to provide a roadmap for the future, not just tell management what happened in the past. Doug is married and has three children. When he is not in the office he can usually be found somewhere on the golf course (usually in the woods). If you ever find a Snell golf ball buried in leaves or in a creek, it’s probably his.
