Tracy Vincent Maitland Mr. Tracy V. Maitland is a Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer at Advent Convertible & Income Fund and Advent Capital Management LLC. Mr. Maitland was a Director in the Convertible Securities Department in the Capital Markets Division at Merrill Lynch. As the major distribution link between investors and issuers, Mr. Maitland leveraged Merrill Lynch's preeminent position in convertibles creating a unique advantage in investing and trading in the convertible market. Mr. Maitland advised institutions on investing in specific convertible issues in their respective convertible, fixed income and equity portfolios. The extensive investment knowledge that Mr. Maitland developed during his 13 year tenure at Merrill Lynch inspired him to found Advent Capital Management, LLC in order to satisfy the growing demand for investment expertise in convertible securities and other parts of the capital structure that are influenced by convertible valuations such as high yield and bank debt. He is a graduate of Columbia College at Columbia University.
Gerald Lee Seizert Mr. Gerald L. Seizert, CFA MBA, is an Independent Trustee at Advent Claymore Convertible Securities & Income Fund and a Chairman & Portfolio Manager at Seizert Capital Partners LLC. He is on the Board of Directors at The University of Toledo Foundation and Advent Claymore Convertible Securities & Income Fund. In Seizert Capital Partners he joined the firm in 2000 and transitioned from the Managing Partner of the Firm to the Chairman in February 2018. From April 1995 to December 1999, Mr. Seizert served Munder Capital Management, LLC as a Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer - Equities. From January 1998 to July 1999, he was also the Co-Chief Executive Officer of Munder Capital Management. From December 1984 to April 1995, Gerry was employed by Loomis, Sayles & Co., L.P. From January 1991 to April 1995, he was the Managing Partner of the Detroit office, a member of the firm's Board of Directors and served on the firm's Investment Policy Committee. Prior to 1984, he was employed by First of America Bank, where he was a Vice President and Portfolio Manager. Prior to coming to Michigan in 1978, he was with BancOne, where he worked for the holding company in a strategic planning capacity. Michael A. Smart Mr. Michael A. Smart is Managing Partner & Co-Founder at Cordova, Smart & Williams LLC. Prior to forming Cordova, Smart & Williams in 2002, Mr. Smart was a Senior Advisor to First Atlantic Capital, a middle market buyout firm with approximately $500 million under management. Daniel L. Black Mr. Black joined the Wicks Group in June 2003. Prior to joining Wicks, he was Managing Director & Co-head of Merchant Banking at BNY Capital Markets, Inc. and was responsible for investing the firm's capital in private equity partnerships, managing relationships with private equity firms, and the overall management and strategy of the merchant bank. Mr. Black was also responsible for the origination of mergers/acquisition and advisory business, mezzanine investments, and leveraged finance transactions for The Bank of New York and specialized in media- focused private equity investors, companies and entrepreneurs. Mr. Black was on the investment committee of BNY Partners Funds, an alternative asset investment partnership created by BNY Asset Management to provide an opportunity for high net worth individuals to invest in private equity. Mr. Black was previously Senior Vice President and Co-head of U.S. Corporate Banking focusing on the Eastern States. He was also Senior Vice President and Manager of the firm's Los Angeles Corporate Banking Office for five years, focusing on senior debt origination and relationship management of Fortune 1000 Companies in the Western States.
